I hardly ever write a review for an interview. Last one was probably 10 years ago. But my recent interview with OpenTable was so horrible. I think others interviewing there need to be aware. 1. They sent you a broken repo 2 minutes before the interview and insists on using it 2. While you are trying to find out what is wrong w the repo, they count it against you. Because It makes you so nervous, you tend to make small mistakes. 3. They want you to set up repo, write tests, do algorithms, fix their repo, know all command lines they set up (not telling you if the default is modified) all in one shot. I verified the command lines with them, I think it is count against me. 4. They expect you to remember all syntax from es6, to react class and functions 5. After seeing you struggle, one the interviewers just smile (as if she knew this is coming) and wished me good luck. (So extremely evil) 6. Worst of all, the manager openly discriminates your race and gender. I reported to their HR. This is really frightening. I didnt do a good job at this interview at all. But that's a horrible way to interview candidates. Also the discrimination was the the unbelievable thing I have seen interviewers do in my entire career. Companies hire lawyers and set up rules to prevent these law suits. And their interviewers just spill out gender and racial discrimination as if we are in a third world country. Shocking!!
