      Entrevista

Phone interview followed by onsite interview. Phone interview was primarily focused on behavioral questions like Why Intel? etc. They were looking for specific set of skills which will enable the candidate to take ownership of a module/tool in the chip manufacturing process. Was given a situation and asked for the approach that I would take to troubleshoot the problem. Was offered an onsite interview at the end of the interview. Intel arranged the flights, accommodation and rental car through their travel agency. They also provided a prepaid debit card for out of pocket expenses. Onsite interview started with introduction and an hour long thesis presentation of my doctoral research. This was followed by several one on interviews and lunch with couple of engineers. All of them asked similar questions about technical problems faced during PhD and how did I solve them?, What kind of instrument troubleshooting was done by me and similar other technical questions. Almost everyone asked about how did I handle/resolve conflicts at workplace. Most of them were really friendly and it was more of a conversation than grilling. They just expected me to answer all questions from actual experiences rather than citing hypothetical scenarios. Other behavioral questions included what are your strengths and weaknesses?, how will you handle a stressful environment? etc.. They made sure I was aware of the invasive nature of the job and associated stress so that I know what to expect.

      Entrevista

I went to an career fair and met people from Intel. Handed in my resume and got an interview the second day. The interview took an hour. Three days later, I got an email inviting me for an on-site interview at Hillsboro, OR. As it was mentioned in others' comments about their experiences, the on-site interview took a whole day, from 8:30am to 4:30pm in my case. I got the agenda from the recruiter who had been contacting me through email so I was prepared for it. I met 8 people in total and 6 of them were interviewers, and about 1h each interview. Had lunch with 2 process engineers who gave me lots of information about what to expect about this job. I got the results after 18 days through email saying that I was not a good fit for the position.

      Pregunta 1

All the technical questions were about my research and all the behavioral questions were very standard: If I have had an difficult college and how I deal with it. If I have had difficult during my research or work and how I deal with it.

      Entrevista

My CV was shortlisted during the campus career fair and was called for a 45min interview the very next day..was mostly behavioral questions with some technical questions.....Withing 5 days, I received an invite for onsite interview at Hillsboro, OR ....The interview at Intel Corp, started at 8am and lasted till 5pm with 6-7 1:1 interviews, 1hr PhD thesis presentation, and 2hr lunch. The entire interview process took place at the cafe (except presentation which was in conference room). All the interviewers were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable....began by explaining me the work scenario and the responsibilities of a process engineer...then some technical questions related to your thesis (please know your thesis and whatever u have written in your CV very well) and obviously some behavioral questions. It was more like a conversation rather than a grilling interview....hence, overall a very good experience....One a side note, the 2hr duration during lunch is very important as well....Its your opportunity to ask questions and they assess your interest in the job and the company....So be prepared with some questions at least.....After my interview, I was anxious to hear back....I hadn't heard back anything for 4 weeks after which I called them...I was asked to be patient as the hiring manager was out of country....Ultimately, received an offer about 7.5 weeks after my interview...So, my advise to all is be patient..they will definitely let u know their decision either way....plz don't pester them with emails or calls.

I got an email through an on-campus career portal to a networking session. I also attended their talk and gave my resume to the recruiter. I had an interview with the recruiter and was called for an onsite interview at Portland (OR). It was a whole day interview (So get a good night's sleep). Most of the managers were very nice, however there was one manager who started our conversation with "None of your degrees or experience matters". He was condescending from the beginning of the interview. Remember when interviewing you are also seeing if you would like to work in the company and environment.

The position requires a lot of troubleshooting so they ask a lot of questions on scenarios where you solved problems with your equipment and maintenance of the instruments.
