Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Capital One (McLean, VA) en nov 2018

      Entrevista

This is a lengthy review, tldr at the bottom. Interview process was two rounds. First was a phone interview with a designer at Capital One. They asked pretty standard questions about my experience + projects. Recruiter got back to me within five days to say that I made it to the second round of interviews. The second round (Power Day) was in their headquarters (McLean, VA). I was flown out + provided one night stay in nearby hotel. The day consisted of three parts- a job fit interview, behavior interview, and design challenge. After interviews they provide lunch and have some of the designers join to allow you to ask questions in an informal matter. My day was planned out + schedule was provided. First off, the interview was in a building that Cap One rents a few floors from. Was given instructions to report to 12th floor, but there weren't any signs indicating where to go after that. Asked a random employee who didn't know where I was supposed to go- they brought me to a different floor but then took me back to original floor. After waiting a bit, on-site coordinator finally came and escorted me. My first interviewer didn't show up. I waited ~15 mins and when I went to let the on-site know, she said they were "trying to locate her." After returning to my room and waiting ~10mins, on-site came back in and said that I would be talking to the interviewer on the phone instead. Interviewer asked me basic questions about my experience, work, and what I was interested in doing. I wasn't convinced that she was actually paying attention because it was apparent that she was driving (heard the turn signal in the bkg). Since the first interview started late, I went out to let the on-site know that I was done. I was worried about the second interview since the first ran over into the second- but I had nothing to worry about because the second interviewer decided not to show up either. After waiting for on-site to figure out what was going on, she said that the interview would be rescheduled for after lunch. Did my design challenge- pretty standard, 45 mins to complete + 20 mins to explain your work and answer questions that interviewer might have. After that, had informal lunch with other interviewees and two designers from Cap One. On-site never told me what time my rescheduled interview was, she just called me and told me to come back to my room on the tail-end of lunch. She had me Skype a designer that wasn't the scheduled person that I was originally supposed to interview with. It was apparent that this designer had done behavioral interviews before, so no biggie there. We did have to rush the interview though, because she had limited time. Overall negative interview experience. If the interviewers can't be bothered to show up + I'm just on a phone call/skype, what's the point of flying all the way to their headquarters? tldr; Two out of three interviewers didn't show up to in person interviews. Talked to one of original interviewers on the phone, Skyped a random person (not original person) for second interview. Otherwise, standard interview process.
