Really amazing process. Everyone is so transparent and relaxed, it’s unlike any interview I’ve had before. Started off with a screener call with Talent Acquisition and then followed by an interview with the hiring manager who went through some technical questions and some competencies. Then followed another technical interview which was really great. Nothing hard or too technical. Then it’s an on site interview with 2 automation engineers and then a director. All lovely people and made me feel really relaxed.

VIBE checks, diversity and inclusion, previous projects, technical knowledge. For the technical interview, I was asked to explain a simple way to determine if a number is odd or even and then to find when a function might fail.

Interview was smooth, interviewers and manager were friendly, recruiter provided quick feedback quickly, manager told about role very detailed, answered all questions and was clear who they were looking for and what is the possible path of growth in the role.
Thank you for sharing your interview experience with Workday. We are pleased to hear you received timely feedback and were provided in depth information about the role you were applying for and that you had a positive interview with our team.
It was smooth and the recruiter was helpful, they sent documents for preparation, and the recruiter called me and kept me updated through the process. I also got pay range and benefits information once I requested.

Tell about your experience in your current company?

The first round was a quick phone call with a recruiter. The second round was a 30-minute interview with a manager. The manager was 10 minutes late, so the interview lasted only 20 minutes. The questions were standard, mostly about the tools used on a daily basis. My impression was that the manager is very conservative, and if your experience differs from their beliefs, you won’t be considered a good fit. Alternative opinions or experiences are not appreciated.
For example, the manager asked where I design test cases. In my company, we don’t use TestRail or Zephyr — all test cases are created in Jira under specific stories. The manager interrupted me and said that stories are only for developers’ features.
There was also a question about troubleshooting issues in GitLab Actions. After I shared my experience, the manager responded with, “I don’t need knowledge from books.” I still don’t understand what that was supposed to mean. I would have expected a manager at a company of this level to communicate more effectively...
