      Entrevista

Workday has a very intensive and elongated Interview process for this position level. My experience relates to applying for a Remote/Home Office based position, if you are hiring for an in-office position the process may be different... Expect to meet with a recruiter first, this is a gateway interview. If you pass that your resume is passed onto the Hiring Manager or Hiring Group. If they green-light your resume you will be setup with a Phone/Zoom Interview. This typically is with the hiring manager and is setup for 60 minutes. If you do well in this interview there will be a 2nd Phone/Zoom interview setup with a Peer of the Hiring Manager. Once thru that typically a decision will be made if you will be brought into an Office for an in person interview. IF you are invited into the office you still will have a 3rd Phone/Zoom interview first, with another Peer of the Hiring Manager. The Office interview consists of two parts: 1.) In person 60 minute interview with the Hiring Manager 2.) A Presentation that you will need to give to a group. You will be doing a 'Mock Steering Committee' update. Around 5-7 days before your in person interview you will be given a case study, from that case study you have to create a presentation and then present to a 3-5 person Mock Steering committee. That is the extent of the process, after the Presentation you should be contacted within 1-2 business days by the Recruiter with an outcome.

Recruiter screening, followed by behavioral interview, followed by two job fit interviews, and an executive interview. Process was not bad, although it is very long, but the main feedback was that some of the interviewers seem to have pre-conceived notions of experience. This may be due to some of the interviewers being acquired, instead of organically Workday, but they seemed to dismiss prior experience if it wasn't the same solution they had been working on. Just something to note, make sure to explain EXACTLY how it's related to them or they won't understand.

      Entrevista

I went through six interviews and a panel presentation, and the process was intense. I was informed that I had been selected for the position but was told I needed to wait for budget approval. However, after two months of hearing the same response without receiving an official offer, I eventually stopped following up. It’s baffling to think that a company would post a job, conduct interviews, and even tell a candidate they’ve been selected, only to later reveal that the position still needs approval. It makes no sense. Having hired teams and worked with HR for 20 years, I’ve never encountered a situation where a candidate is selected for an unapproved position, only to have their time wasted for two months and then told the position isn't approved. It’s not just frustrating; it’s unacceptable. Clearly, trust is not one of their hiring principles.

I had a stellar interview with the recruiter – he was awesome and spent a great deal of time with me. As his background was in systems implementations, we really got into technical details and systems. I was impressed and could not wait for my next interview with the hiring manager and colleague. That was a disaster. The first question was ‘tell me about your current project’. That is so vague that I was not sure what direction to take. I believe I was going down the wrong path because I could tell she was disinterested – she had glasses and I could see the reflection that she was reading some other screen and doing work and not looking at me. I don’t believe they even had my resume or asked me anything specific about my background. The other person did not even bother to turn on his camera. When I asked the end if they would like me to expound on anything else, she just gave a rather terse ‘no’. The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes and then they gave me the opportunity to ask questions. I never heard back from the recruiter after this. I really had high hopes and was excited to interview, but after this lack of professionalism – I would not work there.
