      My interview experience with Workday is a tragicomedy! One of their recruiters contacted from LinkedIn and set up an informal meet-up type phone call with me. On the call she asked just a few most basic questions about Agile and my past experience. She also told me that one of the senior managers asked her to contact me so she was trying to sell the job to me in most part of the conversations. 2 weeks later I got an email from her saying that they considered the ALL of the interviews that I made with WorkDay, carefully analysed the results and decided that I am not a match for the role. The comedy is that I have not made any interview with WorkDay at all apart from the sales pitch phone call with their recruiter :)) I replied to her with a smile saying that she probably sent this to a wrong person and she never replied back. I actually think people in Work Day do not really know what they are doing and there is definetly some thing else going on in their hiring. For me I work in a much bigger AND more professional company so it is just good I get to know Work Day earlier and decided not to even bother sending another email to the recruiter. Their recruiters were clueless as well, I asked her where is the main headquarters of WorkDay and she had no clue :) A different WorkDay recruiter tried to set up some a phone call with me for a different position but believe it or not he kept missing and not showing up on the phone call without even any earlier notice or cancellation. He did not even show up in the phone call that he rescheduled :)) Completely amateur and waste of time I would not recommend any skilled IT person lose time with Work Day, this is my experience with their Dublin office in Ireland. may be it is different in the US.

      The 1st round was with the Hiring Manager. Unlike many companies, Workday handled this differently — it was more of a casual discussion focused on behavior, past experience, and overall fit rather than a strict technical screening. The 2nd round focused on the AI projects I worked on. The discussion included topics like handling context overload, modal judgment, and practical challenges faced while building AI-driven solutions. The 3rd round was a coding and technical design round where problem-solving, system thinking, and implementation approaches were evaluated. The final round was a job-critical discussion focused mainly on RAG pipelines, LangChain, and related AI architecture concepts.

      I applied for the position through the company website and I was contacted by the recruiter. The recruiter was very professional and explained to me in detail on the interview steps, after which I was sent an email asking me to select the time slot for the first step which is the hiring manager round. Had a good conversation with the hiring manager. The discussions were on the projects which I have worked on. After the first round there has been no contact by the recruitment team till today. When I tried reaching out, I was ignored. I think these days companies are sunsetting the rejection email feature to save the cost or may be it is handled by AI , which might be thinking that such human courtesy is not required.

      Manager Round. Followed my HM round, two technical round ( coding + system design). Then final decision. Team said cleared the interview loop but not a good fit to hire for senior software engineer position.
