Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Slack (New York, NY) en ago 2021
Entrevista
Recruiter round. First round is 1.5 hour deep dive into your resume (all the way back to undergrad), no need to prep with understanding of Slack. Second round is 1 hour presentation covering your background, deals you've sold in the past, and how you would sell Slack.
First I had an intro call with the recruiter validating fit for role and planning next steps. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager. This was followed by a “Chronological”, which is essentially a deep dive discussion into your entire career. Lastly, I had to prepare a final presentation covering a brief intro about myself, a review of a past deal I had been a part of, and a pitch on why a customer should use Slack. I was given feedback within 48 hours of final interview on my results.
Overall, communication throughout was consistent on next steps and what to expect at each step. One thing to be prepared for is that the interviewers will not give feedback during the interview. This is part of the interview strategy and is in no way an indicator of success or failure on your part. This was the first time I had encountered that methodology and it took me a bit by surprise.

Tell me about a time when you had to collaborate with another department on a deal.

Let me start by saying that as many times I have read about poor interview experiences, unprofessional behavior, and such during the hiring process, but I took it with a grain of salt, assuming the review may have been biased because someone didn't get a job. I'm sure some will look at my review in the same light.
Things started off well enough - I had a good call with the recruiter that resulted in a one-on-one with the hiring manager. My perception was that things went well there too - and I actively solicited feedback during the call about how things were going, whether there were any questions remaining that I could answer, if there was any reservations with respect to my qualifications or fit at Slack or for the role and the response was that I was "a great candidate." My understanding was that there would be internal discussions and that I could expect to hear back in a couple days to schedule the next interview round.
And I never heard another thing from them.
While they have not responded, for my part, I sent a thank you/follow up email the night of the one-on-one to the hiring manager. I sent a follow up email to the recruiter the following week to inquire about next steps. Two weeks later, I emailed both together to again thank them for their time and express my continued interest.
There hasn't been so much as a form email rejection. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. This is well below the expectations of professional courtesy that should be a hallmark for a company like Slack.
