Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Oracle (Bengaluru) en may 2024

      Entrevista

A screening round was set-up where only SQL related questions were asked. You dont need to code but the interviewer will share his/her screen and kept showing and asking questions: mostly on joins, index, group by, query optimization, query plans. This was well organized and dont worry if you dont know Oracle DB. The interviewer was ok when I gave reference to how things would work in MS SQL Server. Once this was cleared, got a call from HR to know the schedule for 5 rounds. They call this as loop-round. There is no elimination after any round and every candidate has to undergo all the rounds scheduled for an hour. You can take more than one round in a day as well. The sad part was all rounds were scheduled not based on the time I had proposed, it was all when the panel was available - not sure why the HR even asked my availability if she had to chose the slots on her own. Round 1: Resume walk-though. SQL Questions - had to share notepad and write queries and explain the logic. Round2: Somebody who was a java person was scheduled. I made it clear that I am not a java person and then had to wait for 10 minutes as he was checking with HR why was he invited for the interview. The HR convinced him to ask System Design questions. He started with opening a blank page on Hacker Rank and wrote - "Design Parking Lot". He was such unprofessional that he did not even turn on his video while I kept my video on for the entire interview. I started with Functional, non-functional requirements but his questions were not clear. This was the most difficult guy as he did not explain any point what he wanted to hear from me. Round3: More of HR/Behavioral round - scenarios when there was conflict, how did you handle. Round4: Technical round where the a question from hacker Rank was given in SQL to solve it. I could solve it within minutes. Query to find flowers that do not bloom in any season. The guy was technical and asked good questions. Round5: Probably hiring manager. Focused more on what have you done in the project, your learnings. The main problems was round 1, 2, 3 was taken by someone who had no idea for which the hiring was for and the skillset and day-to-day responsibilities they were looking for. The round 4 guy was good and he explained me the responsibilities. Round5 was suppose to be by hiring manager but the lady told she is only on paper that she was the hiring manager, and she needs to check who is the real hiring manager. I fail to understand all these confusions. After all 5 rounds, I waited for a week to hear back if made through or failed. But never got any email when until I sent out email to HR asking about it. The HR then copied and pasted that I could not made through. When asked about what skillset or improvement point came up so i can focus, they simply dont respond. Request to HR would be please do not waste one complete day(6 rounds = 6 hours) for any candidate. Make the process more fast and efficient.
