Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 3 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Microsoft (Hyderabad) en feb 2017
Entrevista
I interviewed onsite at Micorsoft after going through phone screening and submitting a design challenge.
My experience on-site was not so good for the following reasons.
1. The panel seemed less interested and wanted to go through my presentation that I created for portfolio presentation in 15 min. They dint even go through the design challenge or asked me to present it.
2. Same day I had two one on one rounds with the leads of different departments who were also present during the first presenation round.
a. The manager asked me to do a quick design challenge in 15 mins based on the problems currently they are facing.
b. The second one on one was a bit different and the manager wanted me to design a solution for another design challenge in 15 min without providing any information about the needs and was told to assume everything. He was expecting me to create a detailed rough sketches on paper showing the interaction and behaviour.
I am not against the design challenges but it needs to be practical and feasible. They asked me to solve a design problem in 15 mins which they are familiar of. For me thinking in 15 mins and presenting a solution in itself is difficult but still I tried and tried to get as many answers as possible and present a solution.
The only thing I want to suggest them is that design is subjective and every one has a different openion and perspective. Judging someone's creativity in 15 mins with a closed mindset won't give them good designers.
To judge my ability there was a design challenge that I submitted before bringing me on site and the emphasis should have been more on the design challenge rather asking me to go through another challenge.
