1) Initial recruiter call (approx 30 mins) 2) Meeting with a content design manager (45-60 minutes) (this had two managers because one was job shadowing). It was very fast paced, they asked questions fast and seemed pleased with very jargon-y corporate answers. This was fairly easy and went well.. 3) Take home assignment. They say it should take 3 hours, but I probably spent 10-12. It wasn't difficult, but I wanted to go above and beyond... and it paid off. They told me the assignment was graded well, so I was invited to do an onsite interview. It was virtual, all over zoom. 4) The onsite interview was extremely taxing and draining. I had to present my assignment for 30 minutes and talk about 2 previous case studies I had worked on. Immediately after this, I was in a 1-on1 for 45 mins. It was the 'core skills' portion and I had to assess an existing design and provide feedback. It was very awkward telling the manager to scroll while I read it and took everything in. 30 min break and then another 1-on-1 for 45 mins. It was probably the easiest conversation, I think to do with strategy. The interviewer honestly talked about themselves a lot, so that was easy! Finally, my last 1 on 1 right after that for another 45 minutes. Again, another job shadower so I was with 2 people. This manager was NOT friendly, nor kind. Very fast talker, didn't make eye contact, and it set a very uncomfortable tone. Since it was my last interview of the day, I was very fatigued...combine that with her poor attitude, I completely tanked the interview :( I hope I'll get another shot one day. Overall it was a valuable learning experience and I might consider applying again in a year.
