I track whoever visits my portfolio website. During the time after the HR speak with me on the phone to getting that rejection email, I had zero visit traffic from Facebook.
This is a big red flag for any designer who is serious about their career. We are pursing designer career, not other professions that solely rely on lip service and writing reports. Designer produces work that can be viewed in human eyes. Designer's skill should heavily be judged on design work. The hiring team apparently has other things in mind, or just doesn't have a good hiring practice in their system. Or maybe doing a good lip service and other skills are what they look for when hiring a designer. No wonder Facebook is going to downhill.
They didn't spend one second to view my work and just let the HR send over the rejection email.

During the phone interview, the HR was nice enough to talk about the hiring process. One part will be an app discussion. The hiring manager will decide with me to critique an app. Another par tis talking about my work and process.
Basically you just talk and in the end you will know if they like you No design assignment.
The recruiter is very supportive. First round is a deck presentation. Second round is full loop: deck+ BQ+ whiteboard+ app critique. The Overall experience is good, it takes around a whole month

Straightforward like any big tech interview, but long and intense. Formats are pretty standardized so it just takes practice. Questions appear like it's from a bank, so if you're prepared you should be fine.

I was reached out by a recruiter. Started with the recruiter call, then portfolio presentation, then full loop (Portfolio presentation - app critique - design challenge - background). They had very strong emphasis on design craft and visual excellence. Recruiter who helped me prep was very nice and helpful.
