      Entrevista

I applied for the Revenue Management (RM) Analyst position sometime in late March or early April. After about three weeks I got a call from HR for a phone screening During the phone screening we discussed about past work and academic experiences that could be applicable to the job (just general things, didn't go to specific details), also pay range, relocation, my interests and the reason I was applying to JetBlue. After about a 15 to 20 min talk the HR analyst decided that I was a viable candidate and wanted to set up a phone interview between me and one of the RM managers. She then scheduled the interview for a few days after our screening The phone interview took a bit less than 40 minutes and it consisted mostly of questions about projects that I've done that could be applicable to RM, my work experience and how it could be applicable to the position, and also some logic and scenario questions that pertain to RM. Other than that, we also discussed about my interests, and why I wanted to be part of the team. Afterwards, during the last few minutes, I got to ask questions to the interviewer About 2 weeks after the phone interview I got confirmation from HR that the team had chosen me for an in-person interview in their headquarters in New York, which they scheduled for the following week. I was told the interview would start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m., that I would be interviewed by an HR analyst, the managers and a few other team members. Also I was told that there would be a paper based assessment test. They flew me in the day before and put me in a hotel nearby their headquarters (it was about a 5 minute walk) On the day of the interview I got there a bit early, as they told me I would have to register with security. When I got to the HR floor I waited a bit and was greeted by the HR analyst that I originally had the phone screening. She lead me to where we would be having our interview, which was actually near the RM team's workstation The HR analyst was the first one to interview me, and she mostly asked behavioral and organizational fit questions. It lasted for about 40 min, and in total there were 6 main questions that she wanted to ask. All of these questions were to assess my soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, dealing with conflict and pressure, and my fit with the company's values After this, I had interviews with the managers. If you aren't aware, the way the RM department is divided into is by 4 subgroups, a Pricing group and 3 Inventory groups, each having a different manager. All of them had different approaches to the interview process, however all of them consisted of trying to learn a bit about me and how I processes information. Basically, they will give open ended scenarios/questions and they want to see how I would breakdown the problem to get to the solution. I guess these are called brain teasers? Pretty much critical thinking questions, and they don't necessarily want a correct answer, they just want to hear about the process you would take. Each interview took 30 to 45 minutes After the interviews with the managers they gave me a voucher and had 2 of their analysts have lunch with me. I got to talk to them and learn about their experience in JetBlue. It was a nice lunch! They also gave me a quick tour of the building and I got to see some of the different departments and lounges. It is a very nice headquarters, and there terrace has a pretty beautiful view of Manhattan. Definitely a nice place to work! After lunch I got to meet the Director of the department. This was a very quick meeting (10 to 15 min) and he mostly just wanted to learn about me and my interest, no technical questions just behavioral After that I had to do their assessment test, which they gave me 1 hour to complete, they provided both pencils and a calculator. The questions were mostly airline metric questions like ASM, RPM, RASM, Yield, etc. They provided a formula sheet with all the information you would need to calculate these questions. Also there were some multiple choice questions, algebra problems and discussion questions After that, I had my last interview which was with one of their senior analyst, her questions were similar to the others Overall my experience was very good, I loved talking to all of the different managers and analyst in the team and HR. They were all friendly and seemed to love their work. I would have loved to work at the company. I think it is a great company and if another opportunity comes along I wouldn't mind doing this process again, but hopefully with better results My only complaint was at the end. On the day of the interview I had asked the HR analyst how long it would take for there to be a response, and she said it would take about 2 weeks to know the decision. After almost a month of waiting, if I hadn't sent an email asking if no decision was made, I would probably still be waiting on a response till this day...
