Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 7 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) en mar 2016

      Entrevista

Applied through an employee referral. Got called a day later (out of the blue, no prior scheduling), had a 45 minute phone call. The interviewer spoke about the benefits, how stressful the job can get, and presented the scope of the position. Then we spoke for a short while about my research, and was offered, and scheduled an onsite interview at the end of the phone call for about 10 days later. On-site interview at Hillsboro was fairly relaxed. First person went over the job with me. Presented my work to two (not very senior) engineers, who asked me some questions about my research. Again, my research, so nothing unexpected. Spoke with a group leader for one hour, who again emphasized about how stressful the job can get, and why I wanted to work there. This was less of an interview, and more of a conversation. He explained what he expects from his team members, etc. Went for a long, relaxed 2 hour lunch with the same people who attended my presentation. Spoke about the job, levels of stress, etc. Had some technical discussion too (I must say, I invited the discussion, I don't think it was planned. Nothing unexpected again, you obviously should know the details about what you did, especially at a PhD level).. Met with one more very senior group leader. Was asked to tell about myself, and what kind of problems I solved, and how I solved them. The problem solving question turned into a more detailed research discussion. The questions were smart follow-ups, which was interesting. Spent much more time answering my questions after that. More of a conversation again. Was supposed to meet an area manager (aka very senior person), but he had a conflict. So, the interview lasted from 9:15 to 3:00 PM. Was told I will hear back in 2 - 5 weeks. Approximately 4 weeks after the on-site, got an email asking background details. Got an offer 2 working days later. Was given ~ 2 weeks to decide. I have neither accepted or declined as I write this, and I have other offers to weigh against. Really tough to decide. *People writing future interview experiences: Try to include timelines for the obsessive kinds to have an idea*

Honestly, nothing very technical at all. The process seemed to be geared a lot more towards weeding out difficult people than checking technical competency. I guess that's usually the case if you have a lot of papers etc which show you are technically competent.
