I had applied for Dot Net Professionals position. I had two rounds of Face to Face Interview. First round went up well. Basic OOPS questions were asked. Below is a short summary of the same:
Abstract class and interface, polymorphism, static keyword, what is MVC, MVC with 3 layer architecture, using keyword, viewstate in asp.net, state management in MVC, dependency injection principles.
After clearing the first round of interview, I was called for a second round of interview. Questions asked were:
1. Do you really code? I don't think so. [How can someone say that just by looking at my face. Shall I get it tattooed? ]
2. How big is your current company? How many total employees are there in your current company? - I answered approx 1 Lac. The next question was - How many total employees are in India? - I answered around 15000. The response was shocking - "You work in such a big and reputed company, why do you want to work with a small company like HCL?" - [Well, AFAIK, HCL is very reputed and has got approx 1 Lac employees as well, how is HCL a small company with poor reputation?]
3. I really don't think that you can code. [How do you know that, without asking me any questions?]
4. Then he gave me a code to solve, and went outside for 15 minutes. After coming back he said, "Did you write this code? I don't think so. That's all from my side. Nice to talk to you". - [Wish I could say the same.]
Basically, people with reference were preferred. It was more of a referral drive than a walk-in drive. Secondly, felt like the person taking the second round of interview was not fond of women and that is why he kept on saying this again and again that "I don't think that you can code, just by looking at my face".
