      Entrevista

      Initially I applied for an HR Manager role, but ended up having a phone screen for an HRBP role, and eventually a People Operations Generalist role. I had 3 rounds of phone screens - 1 with a recruiter, 1 with a team member, and 1 with the manager of the team. From there I went on-site twice and met with a total of 8 people for about 30 minutes each, one of which was a group interview with 3 team members. Overall the experience was amazing! I was able to learn a ton about where the team was and where it was going, the current challenges facing the department overall, and where they wanted to go over the next 18 months. Positives: Everyone I met with was so friendly, professional, and intelligent. I could tell almost immediately that the People team was comprised of some very talented and drive folks. They took the time to explain the organizational structure, the responsibilities of everyone (which was over a dozen people), and where I'd fit in to that picture. I connected with them on LinkedIn, and some sent me connection requests before our meeting. Even though I didn't receive an offer, I learned so much about where I wanted to grow professionally, and what it takes to be successful in an organization of that size. Negatives: The only negatives that come to mind is that there wasn't great communication about timelines for feedback and the format of the interview process overall. In terms of the process - my experience has been phone screen, onsite, hiring decision - so the 3 rounds of phone screens and two on-sites threw me for a bit of a loop. That said, I know that is not at all uncommon for Silicon Valley, but getting a general picture up front of "here's how it usually works" would have been great. As far as timelines on feedback - I freely admit that I was very anxious to keep moving forward in the process so waiting 3-4 days with no feedback or estimates of when that would happen was killing me, BUT I know that the team is extremely busy and collecting feedback is often a herculean task.
