About the Role:
Newington College is seeking an organised, people‑centred People & Culture Coordinator to join our collaborative People & Culture team. This role is the first point of contact for staff and plays a critical part in supporting the employee lifecycle across our five campuses.
Working closely with the People & Culture Director and Business Partners (K–6 and 7–12), the Coordinator provides high‑quality administrative and operational support, helping to ensure a positive, compliant and seamless experience for staff within a purpose‑driven educational environment.
The role is primarily based on site during term time, with some flexibility available by agreement during non‑term periods.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Act as first point of contact for People & Culture enquiries via HR Inbox, triaging and escalating as required
- Provide high‑quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including contracts, variations, etc.
- Coordinate recruitment administration: job ads, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, checks and correspondence
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive staff experience
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (JobAdder, Synergetic, HR Onboard, Litmos)
- Support payroll processes by ensuring timely and accurate submission of pay‑related data
- Assist with compliance activities including WWCC, accreditation checks, VEVO and WHS‑related administration
- Prepare reports, meeting documentation and assist with People & Culture projects and process improvement
- Assist with project and other duties as required.

About you:
To be successful for this opportunity you will bring:
- Strong administrative experience in HR or a similar environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with HR and payroll and learning new technologies
- High attention to detail and strong time‑management skills
- Capacity to manage competing priorities while supporting a busy team
- A collaborative, professional and people‑focused approach
- Experience in a school or regulated environment (desirable, not essential)
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
