My experience with Interface.ai during the interview process left me frustrated and disheartened. They demanded an offline task without any prior discussion. Despite seeking clarification from the recruiter beforehand, I was assured they were NOT exclusively looking for candidates with a software development background.
During the interview with the CEO, the encounter was unpleasant. He barely engaged in conversation, displaying disinterest throughout. Instead of discussing the detailed PRD I had prepared, he remained silent, even turning off his camera and microphone. It was evident that there was no intention of assessing my technical proficiency. To make matters worse, when the interview concluded, he abruptly questioned whether I had software development experience and made a decision on the spot.
If a software development background was indeed a non-negotiable requirement, it should have been communicated clearly before assigning the task. I invested significant time and effort into completing the task, meticulously covering technical aspects in the PRD, only to have it disregarded completely.
This lack of transparency and professionalism reflects poorly on Interface.ai. As recruiters, they should prioritise honesty and respect for candidates' time and effort, which was clearly lacking in this instance.

Unhappy about the process. Felt disconnected from the hiring team and how it was set up. A couple of red flags made me realize that its better to look elsewhere
