The process occurred in three stages. First was a typical phone interview which focused on the technical qualifications and experience to perform in the job. Second was the onsite interview, which was scheduled with panels of technical experts both junior and senior in experience to the role I was interviewing for. Each panel focused on a particular area including technical expertise, teamworking and collaboration, and management and leadership. Also thrown in were a conversation with the HR director at the site, and also a technical presentation I had to give. Overall the interview on site took up a whole day. The third stage required an assessment by an industrial psychologist that included both a written portion (taken before the in person interview) and an onsite conversation with the psychologist.
Overall the interview was quite extensive and I would rank it as one of the more difficult and energy draining interviews I have experienced.
