The zoom interview process was the most horrible experience I have ever encountered. I recently interviewed with Comcast, Microsoft, Verizon, and a number of small tech entities. The Zoom interviewers treated me with disrespect and degraded my knowledge and experience at every opportunity. Additionally, I was given 4 different technical interviews, rather than one per the other major tech companies I interviewed with, and the same questions were asked of me. I was given two coding challenges when the recruiter told me I would not be given a coding challenge. Finally, I asked a fellow woman about her opportunities to engage in groups at Zoom that support women in engineering and technology and she told me she was too busy! She didn't even bother to turn her camera on. I realized during this process that I did not want to work with the people on this team at Zoom and withdrew my application. I used to think Zoom was the #1 company to work for on my list. Not anymore! I took an engineer role at another organization that values women in technology and engineering and treated me with the dignity and respect I deserve.
