- Contacted via LinkedIn (1h talk) - Technical interview (1h code challenge) I’m very disappointed about the interview, I was expecting an interesting conversation about backend stuff like databases, services, architecture, best practices, etc… However, the interview ended up being fully focused on a hackerank test that they could have sent me to complete before having the call because there was no actual conversation during the implementation and I had to take the words out of my interviewer. I have experience having interviews with a good amount of companies, and based on the amount of employees Zillow has I was expecting an interesting interview that ended up being what I think is probably one of the worst technical interviews I ever had. In my opinion either the interviewer was not prepared to have the call or maybe the decision about rejecting me was made before even starting the interview, either way a waste of time for both.
