I received a referral from a current employee who knew teams he worked with that were hiring. My referral was submitted and I received an invite for a phone screen with the recruiter the next day. I completed that and was moved to the next round, although I had been mildly concerned that I wouldn't be after my expected salary ended up being a bit more than what the recruiter told me they were aiming for. Next round was interview with hiring manager. Laid back chit-chat and the usual resume run down followed by fairly standard behavioral questions revolving around their company core values. Manager was chill and likeable and I felt that I did quite well. At the end of the call I was told that if I made it to the next round I could expect a take home presentation assignment and a loop with 5(!) more people. I got an email the next day informing me that I was not being moved forward. I asked for feedback and I was told that there hadn't been anything in particular that I had done wrong, that they had just found other candidates that were better suited to the role. Disappointed of course, but overall it was a pleasant and speedy interview process with responsive recruiters.

Tell me about a time that you had to provide push back or disagreed with a senior stakeholder.

A phone call with the recruiter to discuss details of the role, salary requirements and interview logistics. I had a series of four 45-minute interviews on one day, and one 45-minute interview the next day. I cleared my schedule in order to get through the process more quickly and the recruiting team was very accommodating in setting them up quickly. I received news on a verbal offer the day of the final interview!

Tell me about a time you had to solve a problem, how did you approach the situation and how did you work across various stakeholders to arrive at a solution?

Started off very positive. Phone interview with recruiter, zoom meeting with hiring manager then “final interview” with the cross-functional teams. About 3 weeks for these steps and was supposed to hear about a final decision before Christmas. Communication became to breakdown over the holidays, understandably. After the New Year, an added interview with the VP positioned again as “final interview” after a couple weeks of no updates. Assumed more of a formality and I thought it we great.
Recruiter informs me a week later that they are going a different direction with the position entirely “the business need changed and the role we interviewed you for is no longer the role we are hiring for”. Wasn’t given any information of the what the new role would be and no real feedback of how my interviews went other than “everyone really liked you.”
Maybe just an isolated situation given the role was new (and supposedly change midway through) and my original recruiter left the company after the cross functional interviews, but could have been communicated a better regarding the changes. Thought the interviews went well and feedback was all positive, but left the interview process feeling a bit unclear as to what actually happened.

A lot of situational questions. More about the specific role and technical experience than anything else.
