The interview process consisted of multiple rounds: 1. Terraform Round: Focused on infrastructure as code, mainly creating an EKS cluster using Terraform, along with setting up VPCs, subnets, and other networking components. 2. Scripting & Infrastructure Round: Covered scripting challenges and a broader discussion on infrastructure topics, including CI/CD, security, scaling strategies, and monitoring best practices. 3. Panel Discussion: A general conversation with the panel, but not with anyone from Zet directly. 4. Hiring Manager (HM) Round: The HM explained the roles and responsibilities, assessing how well I would fit into the position. 5. HR Round: This is where things took a turn. The HR representative seemed unprofessional, asking generic questions and then quizzing me on the company’s motive. I was honest in admitting that I wasn’t aware of it, and instead of offering any insight, she started belittling me. She even took a 2-minute break, apparently discussing me with someone else, which felt highly unprofessional. What was most frustrating was the disconnect between the technical expectations of the role and the HR representative’s vague and dismissive attitude. She bluntly stated that “here, you have to do everything,” which contradicted the structured role I was being considered for. It was evident that she lacked basic etiquette in conducting an interview. Ultimately, after all these rounds, they ghosted me, which further reinforced the lack of professionalism in their hiring process. It’s disappointing when companies fail to respect candidates’ time and effort, especially after such a lengthy interview process.
