      Entrevista para Sales Representative

      Entrevista

I applied online at yodle.com. 2 days later a recruiter called me back. She went over my resume and asked me some basic questions about my background and my familiarity with Yodle. She then scheduled an in person interview for me with one of the hiring managers. There was a mix up with the interview time when I got there. The recruiter told me one time but the time they had was 2 hours later. They asked if I wouldn't mind coming back in a hour. I didn't mind because I had something else to do later that day in the area anyway. I then interviewed with one of their Sales Managers. He asked me some questions about my background, experience and also asked me some questions related to my personality as well as how I've handled myself in certain situations. He also asked me some questions to assess whether I would be a good culture fit. He then gave me an opportunity to ask my questions. After the interview, the recruiter called me and said it must have went well because they want me to come back for another interview. Booked the 2nd interview. This one consisted of me sitting with one of their top performers followed by a panel interview with the Sales Manager and one of the Area Directors. The Director was a lot tougher than the Manager. After a few questions we did a roleplay where I had to sell the Director an order of bottle water for his store. The recruiter prepped me ahead of time that I needed to make sure I close so I made sure I handled all of his objections and closed the sale. He then let me ask questions and mentioned that I had some good qualities for what they are looking for. Unfortunately, I guess those qualities wasn't good enough because about 4 days later, I got a call from the recruiter saying that they decided not to offer me the position. I suspect the reason why I didn't get it was because I'm self employed selling services similar to what they are selling and they saw me as a flight risk and decided to go with someone who was less of a risk (i.e. someone selling for a company instead of being self employed). I can understand that. I've been a hiring manager before so I know how that goes. Overall, I like the company and the people there seem very nice and friendly. They also seem to like their jobs. I asked some random guy in the bathroom how he likes the job and he said he enjoys it and he's doing really well there. So it's definitely worth applying if you want to work there. With that said, I wouldn't bother if you don't have any sales experience and I also wouldn't bother if you are self employed because you probably won't get it.

I own a grocery store and I'm with one of your competitors. Sell me on ordering from you instead of them.

It was a two part interview process, the first of which was over the phone. The second interview was broken down into two parts: sitting in a phone call with a sales rep and then a one-on-one with the hiring manager.

The interview itself easy interview. First they will call you and do a short phone interview and will then schedule you to come in face to face. First you will be asked to shadow another rep on the phones for about 20 min. They will then take you to an interview room describe the job to you, ask you a few standard interview questions then ask you to read a script. They will hire anyone with any background. They just want to know if you are willing to make dials all day, talk to people all day and get hung up on.

One face to face interview. The interview lasted about an hour and included time shadowing an employee and a computer literacy test. I was offered the job after the interview. This position has a high turnover.
