I first applied to the company through an employee referral for the Associate Technical Account Manager position for the RentCafe team in Santa Barbara. I interviewed about a week later after my initial phone interview. The interview consisted of 2 half hour, back to back interviews followed by a logic exam that took about 1 hr & 15 minutes. I thought it went really well and I couldn't have been a better fit for this position. The next afternoon I received a phone call from the recruiter saying the hiring managers haven't made a decision yet but she offered me the opportunity to come back and interview for a brand new Marketing Specialist position on the Rent Cafe team that paid $5000-$10000 more than the first one. Of course I said yes - thinking they must have thought I am a good fit for the company and could tell I really wanted to work there. When I got to the Marketing Specialist interview the next week, it was super casual and brief. The managers couldn't even think of questions to ask me so I mainly talked about myself and asked them questions the majority of the time. When I followed up the next week with the recruiter, she told me the managers from the first position had decided to pursue other candidates but that was still being considered for the second position. After waiting another week and a half for the final decision of the Marketing Specialist position, I found out that she has decided to pursue other candidates as well. My advise to the hiring manager - if you're going to ask someone to come interview for your team's position, at least have good questions to ask them where they can highlight their strengths and prove their abilities. I was asked multiple times by the recruiter and managers if I was sure I wanted to move to Santa Barbara. Don't lead people on to think they're getting a job and then not offer it to them - it's mean.

Three rounds and one assessment. Had two interviews, did an assessment, then a follow-up interview after that, where they gave their feedback. The interview consisted of different formats such as rating your skill-level on certain software. The assessment was an exercise looking through one of their RentCafe websites and identifying the errors within it
