First, I applied for a different role within the company, a Product Manager position. The initial call was a phone screening with HR. We then scheduled a video call for an introduction over Teams.
The second interview took place over Teams, during which I discussed my previous experiences in detail and what motivates me.
Afterwards, I was invited to complete an online personal and technical assessment.
About a week later, I was invited to their office in Antwerp for a face-to-face meeting with two of their IT Product Owners. During this interview, I once again explained my past experience and answered many questions. However, the Product Owners were unaware that I had already completed the assessments and didn’t know the next steps in the process. They promised to check with HR and have HR contact me regarding the next steps, but I never received any further information.
A week later, I received a standard rejection email. I was disappointed and frustrated because I had invested a lot of effort into the process, and then all I got was a generic response. I expressed to HR that I would have appreciated some explanation instead of a standard mail, and that after all my effort, they could at least have called me personally to inform me.
