A recruiter reached out to me to screen me then set me up with the hiring manager over the phone. It was a thirty minute call that was 25 minutes of him drilling me over my high school years and left me 5 minutes to ask question. He then invited to a virtual interview which I accepted - he allowed me to ask more questions but refused to discuss any salary expectations. It didn't feel transparent, honest or like a mutual interview.
