The interview process went both smoothly and quickly. The communication with HR and the hiring manager was excellent. I left the first round of interview with a clear understanding of what the job would entail, which is not always the case that early in a hiring process.

The interview process was unnecessarily lengthy and very repetitive. I was approached about this role by a recruiter that had preciously tried to match me to a different role I didn’t end up getting. She passed me on to a new recruiter who was quite cold and condescending when I asked for more clarity about the benefits and expectations of the role. I still kept an open mind but made it clear I didn’t want to have multiple interviews for a similar role because of the time constraints. I was told I would only have 3 interviews instead of 5 because it was a different team, but two of the interviews had two people, so it didn’t feel like the process has been shortened to accommodate me. I didn’t get an offer and I was told they went with somebody else but I saw the role being advertised on LinkedIn just a few days after I got rejected which makes me feel they are conducting research and have no immediate plans to fill this role. This is very unethical behaviour and it is unfair to candidates who have to make so much effort and lose so much time and money preparing for these interviews. I would have expected a bit more empathy from a ‘mission driven’ non profit organisation that claims to care about people.
