Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Western Union (San José, San José) en dic 2018

      Entrevista

I was offered a position to work as a multilingual Fraud Prevention Specialist for their Costa Rica call center. I got a call from an interviewer who stated he was located in Mexico (why, if I'm located in Costa Rica?). After that I went to their offices, where I was interviewed by my future boss and the interview went well. He explained to me the benefits and the salary amount. A couple days later I get a call from the same Mexican representative. He tells me that some transportation benefits will not be made available to me due to my shift hours and no extra salary compensates that (hello inequality and discrimination!). Then he adds that he will be sending me the proposal in written and that the salary on it will be lower than its real amount, the missing part will be paid "extra-officially" which is illegal, as it is usually done in Costa Rica to reduce the employee's vacation, Xmas bonus and severance package if fired and it is a case of illegal fraud against the Costa Rican tax and health care authorities (I was being hired to prevent fraud and a representative of this company in Mexico is telling me that they will commit what would be considered fraud by the authorities with my proposed salary and they use a Mexican over the phone to avoid prosecution, and because he proposes this verbally, I have no proof other than my word, devilishly clever). I was already very upset about this but the worst was their background check process: they use HireRight, a company that was found guilty by a federal court in the US of violating the Federal Credit Report Act in 2012. So not only do their Mexican representative incites me to commit fraud during their interview process in Costa Rica but they also use a crooked company to check my background?!!! I simply told the Mexican man I found something better and hung up. If they allow such practices this means that this is a rotten corporation, had I accepted their offer only God knows the things they would have done to me as an employee. If they were willing to commit fraud with regards to the Costa Rican labor laws during the very interview process and if they use the services of a crooked background check company to screen prospective employees I do not want to make part of this. These are red flags and I prefer to avoid this corporation.

We pay part of your salary as an "extra-official" bonus, is that fine with you?
