The interview process started out pretty normal with a recruiter reaching out to schedule an initial phone screen. The phone screen went well and I was able to move to the next round, which was an interview with the hiring manager. That interview with exceptionally well and soon after, I sent thank you emails to both the recruiter and the hiring manager. I heard back from the recruiter days later stating that the hiring manager had me as the top candidate so far and the hiring manager had an interview with one last candidate. The recruiter also mentioned that I would receive a call after that interview was completed, whether I got the role or not. Two weeks have passed and there hasn't been a call nor email from the recruiter or hiring manager. If that final candidate ultimately became your choice, that's totally fine, but at least inform me of your decision. You know what's worse than receiving a call saying that I didn't get the position? Not receiving a call at all and being ghosted after sending 3 follow up emails just to inquire about the role. I would've even been okay with a generic rejection email, rather that sitting and waiting on a response that never came. Recruiters...please do better!
