Me postulé en línea. Acudí a una entrevista en Watters Designs en jul 2017

      Entrevista

I applied through Linkedin for the role and the head of marketing reached out to schedule a phone call. Basically, she was (and still is) looking for a marketing person with extensive experience in email and social media. I have years of marketing experience and interview well, but this was probably the most frustrating interview I've ever had. The first interview is typically more of a phone screen style, but I felt like I was interviewing for a VP position! It lasted over an hour with like, 60 questions. One of my pet peeves when interviewing is when jobs ask you questions like "What would you change about our social media?" "What are we doing well?" "Give me a few strategy ideas that you would implement?" "A few" strategies ideas turned into like, 15 because she kept asking for more! I do not work there yet so why would I give you all of the keys to success for you to write them down, implement them, and not even hire me?! I was prepared with about 3-4 ideas to show that I had done my research, but after the 5th or 6th time of asking, I basically had to just make up stuff and I became pretty frustrated, nervous, and flustered. A job interview is about making sure the candidate is a good fit for the role and has the experience - not using them for ideas without any plan to hire or contact them again, which is exactly what happened. She reached out a few days later asking for writing samples and whatnot, but then I never heard from her again, despite following up. It seems the position has been open for quite some time now, and I can certainly understand why. After that interview, I'd be surprised if anyone still wants to work there at all.
