      I have never written a review on Glassdoor before, but my experience interviewing with WWE has me shocked this company is still functioning. I honestly wish I hadn't even wasted my time speaking to people from their team. Applied in the Spring, excited to see a Writers Assistant job posted on Linkedin. I was reached out to over the Summer, had a fantastic call with a warm recruiter who spoke fondly but candidly about the role & team. Upfront, it's important to acknowledge that the money is not good– nonnegotiable $20 an hour for people with a few years of experience, less for those straight out of college, with requirements for travel and late nights (1-3am) in the CT office. I understand overtime is offered, but this was not explained to me in any way that made me feel better about the low pay and high demands– not to mention, it was a temp to perm position since "so many people are unhappy" with a minimum of 3 months and max of 1 year working as a freelancer, so you are not awarded benefits for at least that time. I understand the high demands of the entertainment industry, and am more than comfortable putting in grunt work, but these red flags were abundant from the start. I moved on to the second round rather quickly, and had an interview with someone from the team who seemed exhausted and truly unhappy to be speaking with me. I asked questions like what makes someone successful in this role, which types of people end up staying, etc. and even shared an observation of a high turnover rate, to which the interviewer laughed and emphasized how few people stay on. There was a lot going on re: the role itself (traveling weekly during COVID, meeting in person until wee hours of the morning, seemingly a huge NYC workforce with no commuter benefits to those traveling to CT), but I'm an adult who chose to stay involved in the process despite those flaws, because they were one of the only entertainment companies hiring at the time. Despite the strange details of our conversation, the interviewer shared he felt I was a good fit (not very flattering when you realize how many people they're hiring/firing/quitting, but ok) and that he wanted me to come in person and meet the team. A week and a half later, I follow up with the initial recruiter, who shared things are crazy on their end but the team was eager to meet me and he'd follow up with availability soon. Two weeks later, I've still heard nothing, and follow up. No reply, and I'm ghosted until receiving a formal rejection an additional month after that follow up, all while seeing multiple WRITERS ASSISTANT (Actively Recruiting) jobs pop up on LinkedIn every day. I'm honestly shocked they were organized enough to send me a formal rejection, and I am a little disappointed in myself for even giving this role the time of day. I hope the recruiter finds a better organization to spend their time at, and I genuinely hope the dynamic there changes.
