      Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 4 días. Acudí a una entrevista en WP Engine en dic 2016

      I was approached on linkdin by internal recruiter. We scheduled a time to talk. Everything went OK. Then she scheduled call with hiring manager. (Btw all intervoew stages were over a course of 3 days) Then told to speak to vp of sales and then come in for f2f interview. One guy was pleasant, the other a junior and the last one thought that maybe I will be scared by his deminer. Anyway they quizzed me on my cv. Then they said we will invite you back for next stage. Next day got a call from recruiter saying the thought I will be a great fit but they feel they would have to train me, but the vp of sales and hiring manager, already mentioned in our conversation that training will be over a course of a month and the reason for the next stage is for them to see how much I knew about wp engine. Now my aurgument is that wouldn't of it been beneficial to see how much I have learnt in the final stage b4 making this decision?? Anyway, it is what it is and I don't care about the rejection. What annoyed me the most is that they approached me only to waste my time! Like what ppl said b4 they seem to be playing some sick game. Avoid like the plague unless you like your time being wasted!

      Did the phone screen with the recruiter for an AE position, she was very cool and seemed excited about me moving to the next round. After this interview, WP Engine uses a personality test to screen you. It's important to realize that this a pass/fail test. The test says it's just one factor in their decision, but this is false. If you don't pass the personality test you will not move forward. The test also says to take it honestly, this is the wrong approach. Before you take the personality test, do some research on how to pass these things and answer the questions. It's pretty easy if you do it beforehand and know a couple of tricks. It will save you a huge headache of having to interview and being rejecting on a personality quiz. I failed this one taking it honestly but passed the ones in the future after doing a bit of research on how they work. I didn't pass due to the personality quiz which is fine because it's a fairly big red flag. They're not really supposed to base hiring decisions on it or hard-screen people on it and likely points to some problems with management. To WPEngine, I noticed your glassdoor reviews mention ageism and it's very clear you have a heavy lack of company diversity. I think instituting things like a pass/fail personality test is contributing to this issue significantly. I recommend you think about how you're hiring people and realize that people of different demographics (and all people in general) are motivated differently, have different personalities, and find different reasons for their success.

      Interview process was efficient. Lengthy online assessment, 30 min phone screening, then a series of four 30-minute back to back interviews. I truly thought it went well. I have extensive sales experience but no background in tech. I asked each interviewer if that would be a disadvantage but was told multiple times that it was about culture and willingness to learn. A few days later recruiter called back and said that my lack of tech experience was the deciding factor and that they felt the learning curve would be too steep. So either they were being polite or they were being misleading. Super disappointed, but is what it is.
