The worst recruitment process I’ve been in my life, and that’s saying a lot.
Initial HR call tells me their process will take at most 3 to 4 weeks. Quickly followed by a tremendously complex take-home assignment that requires stuff that the company itself doesn’t even use in their own products. The assignment is so complex that you’re given 2 weeks to do it, and even then I think that’s very little.
Despite that, I deliver in a week and a half and from here things start going downhill. They take 2 weeks - more than I took to make the thing - just to review it. Then I suddenly have to talk to the CTO now, which will only be available next week, and after her meeting she notifies me the CEO ALSO wants a call so I wait another week for his schedule to clear up, just to have it happen 4 more times, each one postponing the meeting a week further ahead. When I finally get to talk to the person he’s not even paying attention and keeps staring away the screen, complete rudeness. After this trainwreck of an interview, the CEO promises a feedback until Friday at most and surprise surprise, that obviously never happened.
At this moment, I have contact with borh HR and the CEO's secretary and neither seems too keen on keeping me updating. I wait twice the amount of the CEO himself promised me on an answer until I follow up asking for an update, just to be told in response that they don’t actually have the secured funds to hire new people! So it seems the norm there is to shoot first, ask questions later, since they’re completely willing to leave complete strangers on hold for months while they actually can’t hire you because they have no money to pay you!
