I applied early March. 5 days later I was emailed the link for the video interview. I was prepared for that by the questions on Glassdoor and had answers written down. I somehow aced that interview and 2 weeks later got the email for the phone screen. I scheduled my f2f about a month out because of flight costs. VA does not pay for your flight or accommodations. The f2f interview is held at the embassy suites in Burlingame. It's really nice but the rates were $250/night which I could not afford. I stayed across the street, walking distance for half the price. The f2f was 4/26/17 and really fun and a positive experience at first. Before check in all the applicants were chatting with each other. There's also two flight attendants there who are part of virgins promo team who kept us company and talked to us or answered and questions we have during the whole interview. We were assigned a table/group with about 6 per group. We were given a study guide with our paperwork beforehand for the quiz. They passed out the quiz first and everyone started freaking out because only a couple questions were in the study guide. They had us turn in the quiz anyways and they seemed embarrassed they handed out a new quiz by accident. They told us not to worry about it but that's part of how we are graded??? Personally upsetting because I studied and made flash cards. This is a group interview sort of like an audition where we are graded the whole time. That was the first issue with this interview. After that we had a fun ice icebreaker activity, followed by a long orientation about the job, pay, company etc. we had a break and there was supposed to be a second group activity which we were told there wasn't time for. Second red flag in the process. We were called back randomly for the 1 on 1 with a recruiter. They definitely all had different personalities I was hoping to get a certain one but I didn't. By that time I was really exhausted I feel it took about 2 hours for everyone to finish the 1 on 1. I felt I did poorly and wasn't expecting an offer. Maybe due to jet lag or traveling not sure. I was hopeful though it being based on everything including the video interview. I received my decline email the next day at 4:45pm PST. There was a couple girls I kept in contact with I only know one who got an offer. There's a few negative reviews here in Glassdoor and some rumors about Virgin hiring young females straight out of college. We were definitely a diverse group 20-40, but the people I know chosen was 21-22. I honestly have the looks but I feel I'm overqualified and I am 30. I myself and others spent over $1300 into this including, clothing, shoes, flight, hotel etc. I really wanted this but in the future I'm going to be careful what airlines I apply to and putting my hard earned money into. Kudos to Donna and Christina the FA's there probably the best part of the day :) my last advice to anyone is to do your research read the reviews and if you have the money to spend go for it. Definitely fly Virgin if you can from you city. That's a whole different story though, I wasn't impressed by the flight attendants on either flight. One of them could barely speak properly over the PA and seemed very ditsy. The flight back there was no music boarding which was odd because that's the whole hip vibe Virgin America is supposed to be about.??? Mind you I'm trying to join this company so I was being very observant but I never saw any of the flight attendants smile and when we left the not even a thank you have a nice day. I think the Alaska merger will do the company good. Live and learn! I'm glad I left with new friends though!

I applied online, then did a video interview then was invited to the face to face. There was about 30 of us there. Short presentation of the company and a little info on the merger between Virgin and Alaska. Then we were separated some people did one on one's and some people had group interview and the rest of us just waited and were able to ask current flight attendants questions. It was a pretty laidback interview. The group interview was scenario based questions all centered around customer service. Not gonna lie, they were pretty hard. The one on one was great. I felt really good about the whole day but unfortunately I didn't get the offer. Sucks because virgin is my dream airline. But who knows what they're looking for. There was 30 of us there and they only picked 3 people. So very selective.

This was my first choice out of the Airlines and also my first interview. That being said-
I loved the whole process! I applied and in the same day did the personality test. A few days later I was asked to do a video interview. *people research the company and know you're stuff!* A month later I received an email asking me to take a phone call and then I was offered an in person interview.
At the in person interview there were 23 candidates. We connected before the process and the in flight promo crew greeted us and invited us to ask them questions. We did 2 team builders and had the orientation of the company. Not in that order. We had 3 breaks all total and they do have some water and snacks in the room.

Casual, fun, but definitely nerve racking and very long. The best advice I can give that I've received from many others is just to be yourself. They can definitely see through you if your pretending. Speak loudly and clearly when you get the opportunity. Don't try to over shadow anyone and just be supportive and friendly to everyone around you. PREPARE questions to ask. DO your research. And try your best to control your nerves everyone truly was genuine and nice. eat before going. Be early. And have a firm hand shake. Good luck
