Phone interview with HR, and then another phone interview with the hiring manager (HM) a week later.
Don't bother applying if you need a sponsor, and take my word for it. I didn't get a single reply back when I needed a sponsor, but right after I put a sentence about not needing a sponsor in the resume, bam, I was contacted two hours later after the submission.
My experience with the HR recruiter here was just horrible. After the phone interview with her, I scheduled a morning interview with the HM through her several days before. I told my current boss that I will come in late, just to take this interview seriously. On the day of the interview, no one called me at the designated time, so I called her after 10 minutes. I don't exactly know how they schedule things, but she said something about she scheduled it, but it's not on his calendar. She asked me If I can do it that afternoon. So I said yes. About an hour before the changed time, she called and told me that HM cannot make it, and asked if I can do it tomorrow. Basically, I wasted my hours, and the worst part is she never said sorry. She wasn't rude or anything but I definitely deserved an apology.
Besides that experience, everything else was just normal.
Thanks for your feedback and I apologize for your interview experience. It doesn't sound like the scheduling went as smoothly as it should have and we'll definitely use this as an opportunity to improve. If you'd like to talk directly, you can reach me at 516-714-1202.

I was contacted by Suzanne Correa, a recruiter from Veeco Instruments in San Jose. The interview was a four step process. The first step was a phone screening with Suzanne Correa which was extremely exciting. At that time I was a postdoctoral researcher in Puerto Rico. The interview was to the point and Suzanne utilized every second of our conversation to get as much as information about my skills which can be used for Veeco instruments. During the same month I was also interviewed by several other companies. However, my interview with Suzanne was very informative from both sides and as a result I felt very comfortable with Veeco Instruments. In the second and third screening process I was interviewed by the manager and one of the senior employee which also went very good. The fourth steps was the onsite interviews including a presentation. I wish every company can have recruiters like Suzanne who knows how to find talent around the world.
