They are actively hiring but they schedule one interview every few days. They do not have a structure on what next when asked on the interview process. They gave a take home assignment just to waste your time because they are unclear on their goals and what to expect or how to assess a candidate's experience. They called me for multiple rounds spread several days with only one person and the same person interviewing me. You will realize you are probably smarter than the person interviewing you and he/she feel threatened that I will outshine that person and even though you have excellent proven track record they will reject you. The leadership is weak, they do not know their direction and the recruiter is clueless on how the interview process goes because the leaders are clueless themselves on what to expect from an experienced candidate.
My advise to senior management is to lead by example and not underestimate the strong candidates you received. Don't waste their time and intimidate them.
