I travelled a far distance to attend the interview (including a short flight and at some cost to myself) and was so let down when I got there. One panel member was almost 10 minutes late for the interview and when I started my presentation, he could not have looked more disengaged or disinterested. He was fairly abrupt and rude throughout. The job was not as advertised, in that the promised mentoring/shadowing period was not likely to happen (although I wasn’t given a definitive answer on that either). I was told I’d hear the result that day but a full week later, I have yet to hear anything from anyone. A reply to my email chasing up would be nice. So disappointing because I value UNISON and their work so much, but that was a terrible interview experience. EDIT update: almost a month after the interview and following two emails to chase up, I finally got confirmation that I was unsuccessful and feedback that suggested I should never have been shortlisted in the first place. Go figure.
