Applied, then had a phone screening interview with Global HR, then was called for an interview at their offices. The interview panel had the hiring manager and another Systems Architect for the more technical aspects. It went perfectly well and at the end of the interview the hiring manager shook my hand and congratulated me, saying "I hope soon we will be co-workers", and I would get an offer within the week! I go home and later that night I get an email rejection from Global HR, I was stunned. I asked around because I have friends who work there, and they confirmed that the other Systems Architect was worried that I would get "his" promotion so he cut me off.
