I applied for a role on LinkedIn and landed an interview, but before even speaking with anyone, I was asked to complete a one-hour questionnaire assessment. It was broken into three parts: statistical questions, true/false, and scenario ranking based on what you’d be most likely to do. Honestly, it felt almost torturous — like being back in school again.
After finishing the assessment, I had a brief 15-minute interview with the recruiter. She wasn’t able to answer any of my questions about the role or what the day-to-day looked like, and said I could ask those if I made it to the next round with the hiring manager. I thought the conversation went well for the short time we spoke.
Then came the waiting. Week after week, I followed up and heard nothing. I even tried connecting with the recruiter on LinkedIn in hopes of getting a response, but was completely ghosted.
After more than three weeks of silence — and after spending an hour on the assessment — I finally received a generic rejection email with no feedback or explanation. My connection request was never accepted either. Overall, it was a really disappointing interview experience.
