      Entrevista para General Manager Macau

      5 de oct de 2015
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Hong Kong
      Sin ofertas
      Experiencia positiva
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 6 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Uber (Hong Kong) en ago 2015

      Entrevista

I was approached by an external recruiter whom conducted an hour long discussion to understand my background, thereon, I waited for the analytical test and proceeded to meet an Uber staff. Turned out, the Uber staff was the right-hand man, the Logistics manager already selected for Macau Uber. Uber indeed works in mysterious ways, this Logistics Manager was selecting his own boss. I was ultimately rejected due to my lack of local Macau contacts and our conversation had etched this Logistics manager and Uber management had already pertained a distinct list of characteristics needed for this said GM position. No matter. Interview process took some time as Uber was gathering commotion from the government. Good experience. Analytical test - Glass door truly helped with the preparation of the test, I read through the entire website for pointers. There are 2 parts, analytical and written. Analytical - Go on youtube and learn pivot tables. Learn VLookup and prep a week table. Learn how to download CSV files into excel. Take practice questions from a consulting analytical perspective. Example, within a 2 week time scale, demonstrate how to manipulate the data to understand the high, low etc parameters. Learn the Uber/transport jargon in advance, ie eyeball, surge pricing etc. You can gather all this information from Glass door and will not repeat. The first 10 questions are designed to bend your stress limits. Be warned! The next 20 questions are thereon worth double points. The test is not difficult but you are truly stretched with time constraint. Manage your time well. Written - To prepare, read through every question in Glass door and prepare answers. Questions include, "write a posting for Uber blog as GM for situation x", "write an email to all drivers to recruit for special event", "What incentives will you bring drivers/clients to Uber?" Please read the Uber blog thoroughly. The main aspect is understand the concept of Uber's business model & share this knowledge in your writing. The analytical test was a good exercise and great learning curve, do not get bogged down by this challenge. Meeting the interviewer after the test, demonstrated Uber is not a firm for everyone. I advise you to be very prepared to show a road map on the first interview how you will go about managing as a GM to the Uber interviewer. Do not be afraid to ask all necessary questions to understand Uber.
