Recently interviewed with USAA (Chesapeake, VA) location. The overall experience has been great and very structured. You know what is going on every step of the way. First, I submitted my application online. Second, approximately two weeks later received a link to take their assessment. Third, received a call from a recruiter a few days later to set me up for a phone interview. Fourth, phone interview went well, the interviewer provided me with some constructive feedback and informed me I was moving forward! I was also sent an email including more detailed information on the position and a video link showing the job in action. This helped me greatly! Lastly, arrived at my interview that was scheduled two days after my phone interview. I made sure that I arrived 30 minutes prior to review my resume and notes.
I interviewed with two hiring managers who were very professional and approachable. They really make you feel comfortable, you can tell they are rooting for you and want you to succeed. One interviewer typed your responses to the questions while the other led the interview. Word of advice, be sure to study the STAR format and to be clear and concise as possible. Take time to really prepare and research the company and utilize media sources as well for example (YouTube). Also, be sure to have good questions lined up for the interviewer and be genuine. If you really want the job, be yourself and let it shine through in not only your words but mannerisms as well! The day after the interview I sent a thank you note, this is how appreciative I was not knowing if I would be selected or not for it is their time they are taking out of their day to conduct interviews and phone screenings.
Currently, I just received the news from my recruiter that the interview went well and that I’m moving forward! I’m so grateful, I was informed that it is a conditional offer of employment and that a background investigation will take place with Hire Right. I’m beyond excited and so happy I took the extended time in prepping for my interview. I feel this job is such a great fit for me!
