I interviewed for a position that required senior-level experience. After confirming with HR that they were also willing to try to open to candidates with junior-level experience if the department thinks the candidate is suitable, I proceeded with the process — which included one phone interview, one online interview, one face-to-face interview, and another online interview with top management. However, I received no further feedback or updates from HR afterward.
I feel disappointed because the entire interview process with URC took more than two months, and I even took leave to attend the face-to-face interview. During the final interview, the interviewer mentioned that the team preferred candidates with more work experience and told me directly, “Our company is not a place for you to come and learn new things.”
I believe it would have been better if this feedback had been shared earlier — perhaps during the first or second round — instead of asking me to attend two additional interviews. I also hope that companies can be more transparent about the department’s salary budget for a position during the interview process, rather than saying, “We will let you know once we decide to offer you.”
