Essentially GHOSTED.
After submitting my application, I received an interview request in under four hours.
At the end of a strong and very positive initial interview, the recruiter moved to schedule me for a follow-up with the hiring manager, then said they needed to confirm whether the interview would be video or in-person, and that I should expect a scheduling link shortly.
A week later, I still hadn’t received a link, so I sent a follow-up message.
Another week went by with no reply, so early on a Thursday morning, I sent a second message inquiring about status.
At precisely 8am the following Monday morning, I received a generic rejection email that you would send in response to an application, not post-interview: “We've reviewed your application, and while we appreciate your interest we will not be moving forward with your candidacy.”
The irony is that in that initial interview, the recruiter described the culture as “kind” and the CEO as “a culture champion” who has created a place which is truly “people-first” at its core. In addition to that, Trimble’s values explicitly describe the environment as one “where each individual is seen, heard, valued and treated with the utmost respect.”
Noting all of that, I wanted to believe this was a one-off incident, so I forwarded an email detailing this experience to four members of Senior/Executive leadership (including the “culture champion” CEO). Like all my other follow-ups, that message went unanswered. Either all the culture and people-first kindness and respect claims are empty PR tactics, or Trimble has a LONG way to go in living up to them.
