the interim interviewer was very unprofessional. They came to the interview late, did not have my resume in front of them. Additionally, the interviewer mentioned they are looking for a "German" native-speaker which I responded mentioning the word "native" as discriminatory (I am a recruiter, I have to pay attention to these details, right?) I was being called "unprofessional" for stating the discriminatory word as a backlash. Apparently, stating that I might not yet feel comfortable to interview in German but I am willing to improve is "unprofessional". I never used the word "racist" and recruiter emphasized this word as if i used it - a recruiter should know better the difference between discrimination and racism. Their attitude was definitely condescending and I doubt the recruiter themself can speak German (funny return of the events) If you are looking to identify the reasons for not having good candidates to fill your positions (this recruiter also mentioned they're struggling with recruitment) , you should definitely check out how you handle your interview processes, job descriptions and make sure to use inclusive language. Besides, a recruiter who, at least, has your resume in front of them would be beneficial. Your HR team is the face of your company. And I'd recommend you choosing better faces to represent you, your values and your principles because this experience hasn't sparked any positivity unlike what company principles say.
