Very poor impression of TikTok, based on one interview. The interview was relatively straightforward. I had been working at Google Trust & Safety for 6 years at the time of this interview, and so it was natural that questions were asked about my achievements at Google. Soon enough, however, questions turned specifically to Google's strategy, processes, plans, rationales – stuff that is strictly internal-only, and highly unprofessional to ask about in an interview. After the interview, I did not hear from TikTok for two weeks. After I followed up, I was told that they would not progress with my application. Again, having to proactively follow up on application progress is a poor experience.
