      I completed a phone screen for a Director role and sent a follow-up thank you note the same day. After receiving no acknowledgment for 8 days (recruiter had indicated timeline was "within the week"), I sent a brief check-in email. The next day I received an automated rejection from the ATS with no personal communication from the recruiter. While I completely understand that not every candidate advances, basic professional courtesy matters, particularly for director-level positions. A brief email acknowledging the thank you note or responding to the follow-up would have taken 30 seconds. Once you've invested time speaking with a candidate and they've been professional in their communications, ghosting them sends a poor message about how the organization values people's time. I understand high recruiting volumes create challenges, but improving post-interview communication would better align the candidate experience with Thrivent's stated values. I hope Thrivent will consider improving their communication practices for future candidates.

      Applied online. Was contacted via email to hold a phone interview. Replied quickly with available times. Heard nothing. Followed up at end of same week to find out when interview could be, was given a very narrow window of time that same day, so I offered Monday instead. Interviewer was several minutes late calling me for interview. Spoke for 10-15 minutes, asked very few questions, but seemed to be a positive conversation. I was told I’d hear that same week. I sent a thank you email same day, and heard nothing. A week went by and I sent a follow up email. Still heard nothing. A total of 8 weeks went by and then I finally got an automated email from the company saying I wasn’t going further in the interview process. Overall incredibly unprofessional and poor experience for what I thought was a reputable company.
