The Young Group (Tulsa, OK) is a life insurance sales agency. The so called Benefits Coordinator position is the exact same as a sales agent; however, if you ask the recruiter who calls THEY WILL LIE TO YOU. I specifically asked 1) if it was a sales position, 2) what the hours were, and 3) if it was compensation based pay or salaried. The recruiter flat out told me it WAS NOT a sales position, that I would be working 8-5 ON MONDAY-FRIDAY, and that is was a SALARIED position with benefits.
When I got to the interview it was being conducted in three parts: a quick one-on-one screening interview, a large group presentation with the founder of the company, and a third part that I did not participate in. During the screening interview the person asked, "What do you not want in a career?" and I specifically told him I DID NOT want a sales position. He then told me I would be a great fit and lead me to a larger room with about 20 other people for the presentation. After about 1.5 hours of listening to the founder degrade everything from military vets to college degrees in his attempt to prove how this job was the best thing on God's green earth, I finally had a chance to ask what position we were actually being interviewed for. The founder got very short and angry with me in his response, after which I WALKED OUT OF THE INTERVIEW.
They wasted several hours of my time, even after I specifically asked about the position and mentioned (both on the phone and in person) that I was not interested in a sales position. Additionally, I am not the only person this has happened to. Multiple people I talked with that day said they were also given false information regarding this position.
Needless to say IT WAS ALL A LIE and the founder is a man I would NEVER in a million years work for. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SELL LIFE INSURANCE, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME!!!
