I have been in the workforce for over 22 years, having worked with numerous financial firms, and I can confidently say that this was the most disorganized and disrespectful interview process I have ever encountered. After completing three rounds of interviews, I was verbally offered the role by the hiring manager, who personally reached out to inform me of the offer. However, when I submitted a counteroffer to HR—essentially the original salary I had requested during the phone screen—the situation quickly deteriorated.
It took two weeks for the company to respond, and when they finally did, they rescinded the offer without providing any explanation. Despite several attempts to reach out to the hiring manager—who was the one to extend the verbal offer—he completely failed to respond or offer any clarity on the decision. I even left a polite and professional message, yet received no reply, which was both frustrating and unprofessional.
The HR representative was equally disappointing. A counteroffer, which should have been handled within 72 hours, took an appalling two weeks to process. This, combined with the lack of communication and transparency throughout the entire process, showcases a level of incompetence that is hard to ignore.
While the company claims to have a "lovely" culture, it is clear they have no regard for basic human decency or respect for a candidate's time. The entire experience was a complete waste, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a role here to think twice before engaging with an organization that lacks both professionalism and basic courtesy.
