      Entrevista

I recently went through the interview process for the Software Engineer (.NET) position at TetherFi, and unfortunately, I cannot say it was a positive experience. The interview process consisted of four steps: HR Screening: The initial HR screening was fairly standard, focusing on my notice period, current tech stack, current salary, and salary expectations. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Technical Screening: The technical screening involved questions about C#, .NET, and SQL, conducted by the tech lead and Senior Software Engineer (SSE). This part of the process was challenging but expected for a software engineering role. Practical Test: The practical test was where things started to get demanding. I was given a .NET + Angular assignment, which required building .NET microservices API with Authorization and Docker, along with an Angular frontend application to connect with these microservices. Completing this assignment within a week was quite a task. Final Round with Engineering Manager: The final round with the engineering manager involved discussions about the practical test, along with theoretical questions about microservices architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles. This round was thorough but seemed redundant considering the practical test already covered similar topics. After completing all four rounds, HR requested contact details for references and past six months' salary slips. This is where the negotiation process began, and unfortunately, it took an unpleasant turn. Despite clearly stating my salary expectations early in the process (in the range of 300k-350k net pay), TetherFi's initial offer fell drastically short at 200k net. After a week of negotiation, they only increased the offer to 225k net, which was still well below my expectations. This disparity between my stated expectations and the final offer left me feeling disheartened and undervalued. While I understand that negotiations are part of the process, such a significant gap between expectations and the final offer feels unfair and unethical. In conclusion, while TetherFi may offer promising opportunities for software engineers, candidates should be aware of the negotiation process, especially if their salary expectations are higher than the company's initial offer. Additionally, the extensive interview process may not be worth the time and effort if the final offer does not meet expectations. Pros: Challenging technical questions and practical test. Opportunity to engage with experienced professionals. Cons: Disappointing salary negotiation process. Extensive interview rounds may not justify the final offer. Lack of transparency regarding salary expectations.

Dear Candidate Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we value all input, whether positive or constructive, as it will help us improve and grow as a company. We as an Organization are focusing towards expanding our Employee base drastically in Srilanka to achieve positive outcomes both for the institution and the Country. This review will influence us to revisit the expansion plan. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and any frustration it may have caused. We would like to address the concerns you've raised regarding the recent interview process. While we understand your perspective, we want to clarify that • Tetherfi follows the most transparent process about the CTC negotiation • CTC negotiation happens based on the Candidate's skillset, suitability to the requirement, performance during the interview, quality of the assignment submitted etc • Though the candidate shares the expected CTC, we believe there is always a scope for negotiation as in our experience so far, candidates always quote higher CTC as expectation and reach a win-win situation post negotiation • We have also invested the same amount of time in assessing the skill set of the Candidates However, it is important to us that every candidate is heard and respected. We encourage you to reach out directly to our HR Team to discuss your concerns further. Your insights are valuable, and we're committed to finding solutions that benefit both our employees and our organization as a whole. We're proud of the positive aspects of our company culture and remain dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive We're here to listen, learn, and improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to address your concerns and restore your confidence in our company.
