I was contacted by an internal recruiter who described the need for new SEO Manager to help guide the company. I went through 2 separate interviews and was then ghosted by the organization. I have followed up over the month since my last conversation and have heard nothing. I can’t even get a clear answer that I have been declined.

Something is up with Tektronix. This position has been open regularly for over 2.5 years. I interviewed several years ago with 11 different individuals (you read that right!), both during work hours and even after hours over dinner at a nearby hotel restaurant (I felt uncomfortable and shared my location with friends just in case). After 11 interviews, I was ghosted entirely. I called and/or emailed multiple times: the recruiter, the hiring manager, etc. I got nothing. I might also mention that my gender came up multiple times during the interview process. I received an “interview question” along the lines of “okay, I’m taking the boxing gloves off for a second. How do we know you can stand up for yourself working with a team of developers dudes?” I have managed several developers in the past and had proven through previous interviews with this same person that I led a team with great results. How is this a real question and would that have been asked if I wasn’t a woman? That is one of the many examples I could give in regards to inappropriate, gender-based questions. Unprofessional, rude, and gross.
